LE PORTRAIT
An address with a clear point of view.
Located on rue Vergniaud in the 13th arrondissement, Le Hangar Five Vintage positions itself as a pay-by-weight vintage shop specialising in 1970s pieces: coats, denim, furs and t-shirts sit alongside one another in considerable disarray. The atmosphere is far from refined — the space is cold, cluttered, and the smell can be striking upon entry. Prices range from 5 to 200 euros, though several visitors report discrepancies at the till, so it pays to stay vigilant. Should you decide to venture in regardless, allow yourself time: worthwhile pieces may exist, but they must be earned. Inspect each garment carefully — holes, stains and wear are frequent and not always disclosed.
With a Google rating of 2.1 and a Fripmap score of 1.5/10, the shop does not appeal to all. Best reserved for patient treasure hunters unbothered by the comfort of the experience.
